Greetings from Curacao

Probably not the best honeymoon etiquette, but we decided to give y’all a little sampling of what we’ve been up to… Playa Abou Flamingos Some random scene off the side of the road. Looks almost prehistoric. Yes Jesus. Downtown Willemstad view from the Ferry. In front of the the natural bridge made from lava rock [...]

Postings to be slim in the days ahead.

I’m getting married on Saturday!  Holy Dang! Thus, postings will be slim or perhaps non-existent over the course of the next 10 days-ish, as I will be getting married and honeymoonin’ I’ll have good pics and stories when I get back. Pausing – Polaroid A Day. I love you Heather.  Can’t Wait!

My New Bling

A couple months back my brother was driving the van and it blew out a tire on the 605 freeway. Bummer. So, I had to get a new tire.  But, the old tires weren’t even the correct size for this van, so I had to get all 4 tires.  But again, the wheel size is [...]

More Succulents

Went by The Plant Stand in Costa Mesa on Sunday.  That place is amazing!  They have the best selection of succulents I have ever seen in my entire life on planet earth. So, I decided to get a little sampling of succulents.  These little guys were a $1.40 a piece.  I like ‘em.

Porch Lamp

For some odd reason we don’t have a porch light at our apartment.  In fact, we don’t have any overhead lighting in our whole apartment.  Anyways, I bought a little old style camping lantern thingy at Wal-Mart for $4.75.  And, instead of using kerosene, I can just use citronella oil.  Wal-Mart is also selling replacement [...]

Plant Stand (with plants)

The plant stand now has plants! And the metal has a nice rust color.  I found out that if you spray vinegar on exposed metal it will help it rust faster.  When the metal reached the desired color I sprayed it with some clear coat.  Pretty neato.

The Slow Movement…

Been thinking about the pace of things lately. Perhaps it’s because I’ve been riding waves with a longboard lately, or waiting for rust to form on some metal projects I’m working on, or riding my bike, or driving my van, and I can’t wait for my vacation (honeymoon) …… all to say, I’ve been thinking [...]

Breakfast at the Diner

I grew up eating spaghetti and eggs.  It’s a simple meal that makes good use of left overs.  If you have spaghetti for dinner and you don’t finish all of it, throw it in a ziploc and put it in the fridge.  The next morning as you are making some scrambled eggs, pull out a [...]

8.12.08 – Polaroid A Day

Funny story behind this one.  I walked out of King Richards antique and took and snapped a quick shot of this little RV.  As soon as I turned around some guy sitting in his car in the parking lot asked me, with a lot of attitude, “what did you do that for?”  To which I [...]

Photo Round up

Another week of photos from my trusty phone.  Part of me feels like I should take pictures with a real camera.  The other part of me really enjoys simply carrying one object that has a lens that is good enough for simple documentation and also works as a phone, watch, and calendar. Hanging muslin curtains [...]

A new category.

I’m starting a new category. Polaroid A Day. This will be accomplished in one of two ways: 1 – I will take a polaroid photograph everyday, scan it in, and post it; 2 – Or, I will scan an old polaroid and post it. Either way, we will have a Polaroid a Day. I will [...]
