Digital Curio.  Sitting at a desk in front of computer for about 40% of my week affords me a mass quantity of digital interaction.  However, as we all know, digital interaction only provides quality when used as a reference to actual, real interaction.  I suppose all media, digital or otherwise, is out there to provide greater flavor to real life; to call attention to the details we are missing, to call us out of our small thinking, awakening us to the beauty and wonder of life itself.  So, for me, as I sit her in front of a computer, I am constantly collecting digital curio for which to flavor my life; sometimes it’s in the form of humor, sometimes disgust, sometimes just simple astonishment and interest!  I have a folder on my desktop named “misc. pics” which holds a collection of images that I have found interesting for one reason or another.  Thus, this is the new category of Curio: any unusual object, object of art, etc., valued as a curiosity.
