Counter, Stainless Steel, Powder Coating, Lime
Here’s a portion of counter that I worked on for a new project in Costa Mesa. I welded up the base of the counter, got it powder coated white and put it on red casters. I’ve still got to put some doors on the cabinet portion, but you get the idea. And I need to [...]

Coffee Table Project Update
Measure twice, cut once. Or, measure once, cut once. This is what happens when I weld up a frame without measuring the wood slab first – “I think it’s about 20 inches wide” – wrong. Well, at least I have a base to work on another coffee table project…

Recent Acquisition
Heather and I picked up this little mid century beauty over the weekend. The cushions are kinda funky, but we could always change those out at any time. Other than that, the wood is in great shape, and it’s a super comfy lounger:

Delta Spirit – People C’mon
Back in January, I helped out with a music video for Delta Spirit produced by my friends at The Hobosoul. I helped build the set and also coordinated some of the fight sequences. The video was modeled after the Godard film “Pierrot le Fou”. Oh, and I’m also in the video as well, let’s see [...]

Art, Critique, Cody Cochrane, The Digital Age!
A couple weeks back I wrote a post regarding the similarities I saw between the work of artists Cody Cochrane and Richard Colman [Here]. Surprisingly, over the weeks, I’ve received about 800 hits on that post, and a little conversation has emerged in the commentary of that post; including commentary from Cody Cochrane herself! This [...]

Fast Trains
Obama introduces teh High Speed Rail Plan! Stoked! It’s about time. From LAist “Ten high speed rail corridors were identified today by the White House, including one that is already well on its way in California. Comparing his plan to President Eisenhower’s Interstate highway system, President Obama said “My high-speed rail proposal will lead to [...]

“What He’s Saying While She Waits for the Light”
“What He’s Saying While She Waits for the Light” is the title of the most recent installation/video by wife and husband team Megan and Murray McMillan. The title itself is enough to get one’s mind thinking about the possibilities, simply the words saying, waits, and light, carry with them a great depth of meaning. This [...]

Good Friday, The Cross, Consumerism, Entertainment, Stream of Consciousness
I’ve heard that the Cross is on of the most recognizable symbols in the world. Outside of the other primary religious “logos”, the rest of the list is comprised mainly of corporate logos (coca cola, mcdonalds, nike, virgin, mickey mouse, etc…). It’s an interesting thing to think about, and icon of death is right up [...]
