The Society of Interested Persons Salon on 11/21:
Besides my unprepared ramblings, grasping for some theoretical underpinning for which to describe my “interactive art experience”, the event was a success; well, it’s always a success. Another success in the succession of successes.
For my interactive, participatory experience, I used a white backdrop, an overhead projector, overhead transperencies and sharpies. I cut out two holes in the backdrop for people to put their mugs through. The object was to draw your own reality. Create a scene to be a part of. For a first try, I think it went really well. It ended up being a very interesting problem solving experiment.
As usual, I wasn’t too on top of it with the documentation process – which will eventually be my doom as an artist. Nevertheless, and neverthemore, here are some photos from the experiment:
The Salon was at the Callis boatyard in Seal Beach, and the wet sea air was getting everything soaked. Hence the skin cancer effect on the projections – they were covered in sea dew (very different from mtn. dew).
Serious Art.
Don’t Mess.
