The Plastiki sailboat, made of 12,500 plastic 2 liter bottles, launched from San Francisco a couple days back. My good friend Vern Moen is on the boat, documenting the voyage. Apart from being an excellent filmmaker, his interests generally lean to ships, whales, tall tales of the sea, etc, which, along with his rugged handsome looks, make him a perfect fit for this journey. I’m sure he’s having the time of his life already.
Here’s the trailer that Vern and his team at Long Beach Film Company made:

Hey Eric, Plastiki sounds rad. Too bad I can’t watch the video because I don’t have Flash 9 or 10 or whatever, and I’m too apathetic and computer illiterate to install it, plus my computer probably couldn’t even handle it. All the same, I’m stoked to discover your site. Are there any pictures of your wood/metal work around here somewhere?
