This is the installation I constructed for my end of the year show for my first year in my MFA program.

I tried to present my work in a total context – that is, taking all the dynamics which comprise my “work” and put them on display. I’m constantly making, thinking, making, looking, reading, thinking, making and it’s hard to figure out where the “work” ends. My work, more or less, comes out of my lifestyle – a particular way of engaging the world. So, with this piece I tried to show all of that.

The silly and the serious all in the same space – the objects I buy at thrift stores, my random experiments with materials, books I’ve collected, and plants that are hanging in my house.

The chair above is a collaboration with Casey Keasler of KID Collective. She hand stitched the leather sling to my frame. Gorgeous chair.
