Adding to the Polaroid Archive

I scanned almost all of my polaroids 6 at a time, so I’ve started to edit them up and add to the archive. Here’s todays sampling:

Construction! The Musical!

Danny, Dave, and I have been doing some construction work down in Sobeca town lately.  There’s some really cool projects underway, and we’re all happy to be involved with the Sobeca radness. Brother Evan snapped some photos as we built a huge wall at the Camp Dave, Danny, Ryan. Creep. Band photo. Ska band photo.

Salton Sea (Recap 3? 4?)

Jeff from the Hobosoul posted a great story from his experiences of this years trip.  Read HERE. Samuel also posted another set of excellent photos from the trip HERE. Kevin from Light + Space studio posted some photos HERE. Photos in this post are by Ruthi Auda.  She has a good eye, and captured some [...]

Salton Sea Recap (2- The E Trine Lens)

I opted not to bring along a camera to this years trip, but I did have my trusty handy dandy phone with me the whole time.  Which, now that I think about it, is kinda sad – that I had my phone with me the whole time while camping.  Anyways, I did manage to capture [...]

Salton Sea Recap (1)

I am back from an amazing weekend spent in Californias forgotten wonderland, the Salton Sea.  As I got into bed last night I felt so peaceful and so refreshed from this past weekend away; it was a perfect storm of soulful nourishment.  The group this year was amazing!  Despite all the hype, we actually had [...]

Studio Snacks

Little morsels of goodness in the studio… These photos wouldn’t be half bad if I shot them with a camera that doesn’t have a phone attached to it…

crazy kids

Found an interesting set of photographs from a “Childrens Village for trouble children” in Stockholm, Sweden in 1949.  I don’t know much about the story here, but photographer, Mark Kauffman, captured some super rad images.  Kids smoking, crawling through buildings, doing expression paintings, throwing rocks through windows, etc… It’s like pleasure island from Pinochio minus [...]

Evan Trine, Photographer?

Perhaps, he’s got the eye, and he know’s when to pull that trigger.  And he’s got some interesting looking friends that make for the right subject matter.  hmmmm…. When scenes like this just happen, and you’re there with your camera to document it, there’s nothing better… Way to go little brother.

Glory Preservation Society

I was driving north on PCH yesterday afternoon, and was struck by the sheer majesty of some awesome looking cloud structures.  I tried to snap a pic on my phone, but it just wasn’t getting the job done.  During my stretch between Huntington Main St and Bolsa Chica, I noticed that the people in the [...]

Many Much Polaroids (1)

My friend Ruthi is a display coordinator for Anthropologie and she is doing a new display in a couple of weeks that requires lots and lots of polaroids.  She asked me to scan in as many as I could and send them over.  So, I scanned them in, 6 at a time.  I pulled 110 [...]

Iphone Kaleidoscope

It’s simple.  Your camera on your phone has a small enough lens that you can hold a small kaleidoscope directly in front of it for results like these: I keep the kaleidoscope on my nightstand next to my bed, and I woke up this morning with this invention in my head! fun stuff.
